This collection represents the official papers of the New York Library Association. As an organization formed to promote and unify libraries and librarians in New York State, the associations papers reflect diverse interests and activities of the association. Included in the collection are business and financial records reflecting the day to day operation of the organization, committee and roundtable papers reflecting the specific and special activities of the organization and executive officers and council papers documenting the decision making and policy making practices of the organization. The collection receives periodic additional accretions to the various series.
